SINALOA PARK


Before

Sinaloa Park was founded in 1929 by Benjamin Francis Johnston, where at that time it was his house, when the government died, he took the land and made it an ecological park available for the whole community.

The Sinaloa Park covers 16 hectares and the interior of this is the Botanical Garden, which was designed by the landscape architect Florence Yoch. We have 45 families of plants, 203 different species in approximately 4,400 individuals. Of note are the 32 species of palms, being the most representative group of the Garden, 27 species of legumes like mesquite, 19 of moraine like macapule, 15 anonaceae such as guanabana, 13 bignoniáasas like the amapa and many more, Some copies are coming from other countries. It represents a valuable option for the conservation of biodiversity and is currently inhabited by species of regional plants, national and other countries. Our Botanic Garden Benjamín F. Johnston is an ecological lung that besides giving to Los Mochis of a scenic beauty contribute to the regulation of the climate, the sense of the identity to the population and still conserves a natural capacity in the massive reproduction of species for Reforest the region for the rescue of others with risk status of the region. For the Botanical Garden research is a priority activity to achieve conservation, ensuring through knowledge, survival and reproduction of species.
